Young people in Brøndby now have access to professional advice on sexual and mental health. A new collaboration between Brøndby Municipality and "UngeLiv - Sexual Health and Well-being" in Hvidovre provides access to free contraception, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and consultations with healthcare professionals.

New service close to Brøndby

With UngeLiv in Hvidovre, young people from Brøndby now have a place where they can anonymously receive guidance on sexuality, body image, and well-being. Here, they can meet with healthcare professionals who have specialized knowledge about young people's health and receive advice on everything from contraception to emotional challenges.

The center is open for drop-ins on Tuesdays from 12:00 to 14:00 and Thursdays from 15:00 to 17:00, but appointments can also be booked on other weekdays. As part of the collaboration, Brøndby Municipality provides an employee from the Youth and Family Team for 3.5 hours a week and covers the costs of healthcare professionals.

Proven counseling with impact

UngeLiv has been in existence since 2022 and has already provided counseling to more than 800 young people. According to an evaluation by the Danish Health Authority in 2024, the service has had a positive effect on young people's well-being and ability to make informed choices about their sexual health.

The future of UngeLiv in Brøndby

The service will initially run until 2026, when an evaluation will determine how many young people from Brøndby have used it and what effect it has had. The results will determine whether the collaboration will continue or be expanded.
